1. There are a large number of skin cleansers available on the market today. You can typically locate these at your local pharmacy, and even in the “Health and Beauty” section of your local department store, like Wal-Mart. It is important to be extremely cautious when it comes to using over-the-counter cleansers for acne. There are many different types of ingredients used in these products that can actually strip the skin of important oils and nutrients. The two most safe and gentle ingredients used in skin care cleansers are that of Aquanil and also a product called Cetaphil.

2. There are also many different types of lotions and similar products that are offered for acne sufferers. These are ultimately very good for the remaining scars that acne causes. While there are some great ones out there, there are many that will make an existing acne problem even more complicated. Just remember to pay special attention to the products that you purchase. For example, if you have oily skin, you will want to avoid products that add a great deal more oil to the skin.

Unfortunately, it typically takes many different prescriptions before you and your doctor can identify one that is effective for your condition. This can prove to be extremely costly. In addition to this, it is possibly that you may suffer from additional symptoms that are quite uncomfortable.

  1. This is a good article but it is important to mention that there are many over-the-counter acne treatments on the market today. However these products are not meant to replace the care that you can get from your dermatologist. I created a website that allows members to get skin care advice from women with similar concerns.

  2. Using a bunch of different acne treatments will irritate your skin. You need to use a product line that will heal blemishes, prevent new breakouts, deeply clean your pores, sooth your skin, and keep it moisturized. I found that Acne Complex by Murad works best.
