I not in agreement with what your saying.

Firstly let me point out that anti aging and anti wrinkle skin care should start as soon as a woman turns 20. Because from the age of 20... the average woman's skin begin to dry out and fine lines begin to gradually form.

Therefore women are advised to change their skin care products and routines as soon as they come out of the teenage phase in life. So your suggestion that younger women should stick to moisturizers is a bit misleading (at least in my book).

Additionally...products containing SPF 15 does not provide enough protection from the sun's harmful rays. You see...the sun is the number 1 cause of wrinkles, so one can never have enough protection from the sun. Thus if one is seriously trying to prevent wrinkles from occuring, then one should look at products containing SPF 30.

Also it is not wise to purchase sunscreen separately. Instead purchase products that already contain SPF 30. This way you prevent diluting the sunscreen with all the other ingredients that are in the product.

Now let's look at the myth of the magic anti aging wrinkle cream.

An anti wrinkle cream doesn't get rid of wrinkles. All they do is add moisture to the dead skin cells in the top layer of skin (the eopidermis). And in so doing...these dead skin cell swell and as a result, fine lines and wrinkles appear to be vanishing.

However the effects are not lasting. As soon as you stop using the cream...the wrinkles return. And in some cases the wrinkles return worse than before because they weren't actually treated. Instead they were left to develop and expand.

You see there are 3 main factors that cause wrinkles. And anti aging creams do not treat any of them.

The first factor is the loss of collagen in the skin. Collagen is a protein which keeps skin tight and firm. But due to free radical damage (brought on by the sun's rays) the collagen production declines. So the skin becomes loose and sloppy. Thus lines and wrinkles form.

The second factor is the loss of fat cells. Free radiacl damage not only damages skin cells and collagen proteins but it also destroys fat cells. And as these fat cells decline in the skin...the skin becomes thinner and hollow. Thus fine lines and wrinkles increases and deepens.

The third factor is the contraction of facial muscles. These facial muscles are connected directly to the facial skin. And as we age our muscles shrink and pull down on the skin. This Causes the skin to fold. Thus wrinkles become much deeper.

Now a wrinkle cream cannot treat these factors. Like I said earlier these creams only reach as far as the epidermis (top layer of dead skin) so whatever essential ingredients are found in the cream doesn't make it to the dermis (the lower layer of living skin cells). So they are ineffective.

Additionally an anti wrinkle cream can do nothing to treat the contraction of the facial muscles. Think about it...

If the cream cannot even get down to the lower layers of skin...how is it going to reach the facial muscles.

Wrinkle treatment requires more than a magic night cream. And I think it would save people a lot of time and money if they knew this.
