Defining acne- Acne can be defined as a skin condition caused by over active sebum producing glands clogging pores with dead skin, dirt and hair instead of evenly coating the skin with the sebum. The exact cause of the condition must be determined before a suitable acne remedy is identified.

Recognizing acne- The condition is often incorrectly diagnosed or wrongfully recognized. This is most probably as a result of different skin conditions resembling acne. It is important to identify certain acne features such as excessively oily skin, white and black head break-outs and large bumps on and under the skin.

Types- Acne can inflammatory and non-inflammatory in nature, depending how serious the condition is. White- and black heads are considered non-inflammatory acne. White heads form when oil and bacteria plugs pores just below skin surface. Whiteheads are least visible of all the acne types. Blackheads are formed in the exact same manner whiteheads do with oil and dirty plugging pores. However black heads' colour is derived from the melanin and oxidizes contained in the oil changing colour. Blacheads' are the most stubborn acne to get rid of. Washing or scrubbing alone will not be sufficient with sebum content taking a very long time to drain. Papule's and Pustules are inflammatory in nature due to the extreme pain and discomfort caused by the legions. Papules form with follicle wall breakage and white blood cells rushing to the pores causing intense inflammation after a couple of days. The inflammation may increase to such an extreme that the papules collapse totally and Nodules or Cysts are formed.

Causes- Acne break-outs can be triggered by an endless list of causes such as bad eating habits, lack of proper hygiene, insomnia, vitamin deficiency, stress, hormonal changes during puberty and pregnancy.

Treatment options- An endless range of acne treatment options are available from natural and herbal remedies to prescription medication in the form of antibiotics, ointments and topical creams.

Natural remedies- Homemade as well as natural remedies are great for treating acne. Apple Cider Vinegar or ACV for short, is super for treating and clearing spots and acne scars. Dab the spots with a ACV soaked cotton ball and leave overnight. Calamine Lotion is a wonder cure both drying and clearing acne by merely rubbing a bit of lotion on the spots and leaving it to dry. Juice of gel made from Aloe Vera will clear the condition with a couple of weeks of regular application. The skins' overall health and glow will also significantly improve.

Water- Water, water and more water. Water is the most natural and safest way of detoxing your body from harmful and poisonous build-up in the blood stream and liver. You will definitely see the difference in your skins' appearance after only a couple of days of hydration. You skin will be soft and glowing.

Supplements- Acne is often caused by a lack of vitamins and minerals in your diet. The nutrients are easily replaced by consuming a vitamin supplement daily.

Medical attention- It is always recommended to seek medical attention before you start treatment to any medical condition. Your Physician or Dermatologist will shed light on the best treatment for your skin condition as acne and skin type should be taken into consideration.

Cellulite Causes and Remedies

A cause of emotional stress is often cellulite. This is especially true in women since women are much more likely to get cellulite than men. Cellulite is basically accumulated fat under certain spots of the body, such as the thighs, the hips, and the belly. Needless to say, such problems are difficult to hide with clothing, and can be a source of embarrassment.

The following are all things that can lead to cellulite:

#1 " Heredity. Cellulite is one of those things that gets passed down from generation to generation. You are more likely to get cellulite if your parents and grandparents also suffered from it. It's an unfortunate heirloom that many sufferers have no choice but to deal with.

If you have an older relative who successfully got rid of their cellulite problem, then don't hesitate to ask them how they did it. It's likely that what worked for them will work for you " after all, you do share some of the same genes that are likely causing the problem!

#2 " Medication. Some forms of medication can trigger hormonal changes in the body. These changes can accelerate the accumulation of fat in the body. Such medications include birth control pills, diet pills, and sleeping pills. It's always a good idea to check with your doctor before taking any of these medications, especially if your family has a history of cellulite.

#3 " Smoking. Cellulite is a condition that's affected not only by the buildup of fat under the skin, but also by the condition of the skin itself. Smoking doesn't only cause lung cancer and heart problems " it also weakens the skin and thus making cellulite look even worse. It's never a good idea to smoke. Poor skin with cellulite is just another reason to kick the habit soon.

#4 " Bad eating habits. Eating too much junk and fast food as well as drinking too much caffeine and alcohol is one of the most prominent causes of cellulite. It's not unusual to see kids as young as 14 with cellulite these days, mainly because good eating habits aren't taught well enough at home and school. Unfortunately, there are other problems caused by bad eating habits " you can also add obesity, migraines, vertigo, impotence, and hypertension to the list.

The best foods to counter cellulite involves a diet of much less junk food including fried food, fast food, processed food " and more of the good stuff. Incorporating more fruits and veggies into your diet is a good place to start. You can still have junk food every now and then. Just remember to balance it with healthy food and regular exercise. This will help prevent cellulite from appearing.

#5 " Bad drinking habits. Believe it or not, cellulite is affected by the amount of water you drink. Water is needed by the body to flush toxins out of the body on a daily basis. Some toxins are the leading triggers of cellulite. If you don't drink enough water in a day, too many toxins will be left in the body, and cellulite buildup will be inevitable.

Make sure you drink at least eight glasses of water everyday to keep your skin hydrated. Water will also keep your skin from drying, improving the overall appearance of even your fatty bulges. Fruit juice is also okay, but be careful " some brands of fruit juice have the same amount (sometimes even more) of calories as soda. This can make it harder for you to shed those unwanted slabs of fat.

Now that you know about the most common cellulite causes and how to address them, the next thing you need to remember is to start slowly. Healthy habits can be hard to stick to, but practice makes perfect! Eventually you will see healthier skin as a result of your efforts!

But the hundreds of lotions and creams for sale can make it difficult to choose a cream that suits your personal situation.

If you have ever suffered from cellulite then you know that it is when the skin gets a dimpled look. Often it is seen on the stomach, thighs, hips or buttocks. However, others areas on the body can be affected by it. The condition is embarrassing for many women who tend to avoid swimsuits or short clothing to cover up their affected areas.

The cellulite condition occurs when the honeycomb like structures that house the thin layer of fat just beneath the skin begin to break down. As a result the fat begins to bulge and the skin starts to dimple. Toxins begin to accumulate, as well as fluid, worsening the condition.

This breakdown can be caused - among other things - by aging, genetics, poor dietary habits, smoking or alcohol. Excessive weight gain and dehydration are also factors that make the condition more pronounced. When you skin is dehydrated it will be more prone to dimpling. If you are overweight, fat is added to the thin layer beneath skin leading to more and larger dimples.

The best cellulite treatments will treat the cellulite condition directly. When investigating what treatment will work for your keep in mind that a good treatment will help the body to remove the fat deposits, make the skin more elastic and improve the skin's hydration.

When examining the ingredient of a particular cream you will want to make sure that they are known to help the condition. Coffee, green tea and seaweed are well known to help reduce cellulite fat deposits. Emu oil is known to improve the firmness and smoothness of the skin and has been used by Australian aboriginals for centuries to improve skin health.

Other ingredients that are common in cellulite creams include Aloe Vera and Aloe leaf, Hyaluronic Acid and Matrixyl. Hyaluronic improves the moisture of the skin while Matrixyl strengths the skin. There are many other ingredients that can be found to remove cellulite.

It is important that you fully investigate the ingredients of a cream to ensure that you are getting value for money. If you are unsure there are many resources on the internet that can help you.

Cellulite cream is only just one treatment which is available to treat this condition. Other treatments can include massage, laser therapy, radio waves and wraps. These may also be worth a look.

Women suffer from cellulite more than men with over 90 percent of females having cellulite at some point in their lives. This is because of the higher fat content that women have when compared to men. Often people believe that cellulite is caused by being overweight but this is not necessarily the case with many thin women suffering from the condition.

The media often makes many women feel that are abnormal if they have cellulite. But this if far from the case. Many famous celebrities and models suffer from cellulite except it is well covered by makeup and special affects.

The cause of cellulite is found right below the layer of skin. Here, there is thin pockets of fat which are contained in honeycomb like structures. If this fat begin the bulge from this honeycomb then cellulite starts and dimpling appears on the upper side of the skin.

Ways to Get Rid of Cellulite Quickly

January 27, 2009 by Richard Daylight-Baker · Leave a Comment

Cellulite is the term for the unsightly dimpled skin that usually occurs on the back of women's thighs and buttocks. The risk of developing the condition increases with age and most women will experience it in their 30's. In fact, over 90% of women will have cellulite at some point in their lifetimes. There is no magic cure for cellulite but there are some steps you can take to reduce its appearance or the risk of developing the condition in the first place.

The number one cause of cellulite is too much fat. The condition occurs at the level below the skin where there exists a thin layer of fat. When a person is overweight the fat here becomes lumpy and uneven which causes the skin above to become dimpled. Research has shown that women will add around 15 pounds of fat every decade and this is one of the major contributors to cellulite. The first step in losing cellulite is to start eating more healthy foods and increase your intake of water.

Any change to your diet that you do should be accompanied by a exercise program. The best method is to combine strength training and cardiovascular exercise. This will ensure that you burn off the fat while at the same time building more toned muscle.

When choosing a cardiovascular exercise you can do any type that is able to get your heart rate elevated quickly and for an extended period of time, and that will burn fat. This could include walking, cycling or stair climbing.

When choosing a muscle building exercise you should choose one that focuses on the problem area. So, for example, if your problem area is your thighs then you should select an exercise like lunges, leg press or squats as these will tone the area around the cellulite and help increase the muscle. Make sure you exercise these muscles intensively.

To prevent injuries and muscle soreness, you should warm up and down properly and do some stretching at the end of the workout. This is important but not necessarily done by many people at the gym.

A simple and easy method to minimize the look of cellulite is to have a spray on tan done. The more dark your skin is the less likely people will notice the cellulite. However, you shouldn't tan in the sun if you have cellulite as the UV light will damage the skin and make the cellulite even more problematic.
