Get Rid of Razor Bumps Easily and Forever

Get rid of razor bumps with an easy and simple shaving technique. After shaving many people of color or with curly hair suffer from razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Razor bumps occur after shaving when your shave is done improperly.
There are products available that treat razor bumps, but the bumps will keep coming back if you don't take measures to prevent them. If you already suffer from razor bumps then it's a good idea to use some form of treatment the night before you shave. Less bumps will mean a smoother shave and less of a chance that you'll infect the bumps you already have.
A tweezer can also come in handy when you are trying to free ingrown hairs. You can use the tweezer to excavate any hairs which may be embedded just underneath a top layer of skin. The hair should only be freed and not taken out completely in order to avoid further skin problems.
The best way to get rid of razor bumps is to prevent them in the first place. In order to prevent them you need to change the way you shave from now on.
The steps that follow outline how you should go about shaving from now on if you want to see a permanent difference.
* On the day you are going to shave use a face scrub or exfoliant. This will slough off any dead skin cells allowing you to get a closer shave.
* Shaving is best done after showering and not before. Therefore, once you use the face scrub take a hot shower and let the heat open your pores and soften your hair for an easier shave. If you choose to you can heat a towel and// use this to wrap around your face.
* Once you come out of the shower apply a pre-shave oil.
* Use the shaving oil in combo with shaving gel or shaving cream. Try to avoid the foaming shave creams as a non-foaming gel is better for your skin and overall shave.
* Never use an old razor to shave. Using an old razor will only lead to more ingrown hairs and razor bumps.
* Stroke your face with the razor in the same direction that your hair grows. For me I shave in a downward slant on my cheeks and straight down on my chin. Avoid shaving in the opposite direction of your hair growth.
When I'm done shaving I use cold water to rinse with. Rinsing with cold water closes the pores.
* Use a skin toner or astringent to stop inflammation. I usually use either witch hazel or tend skin solution.
* Keep your face moisturized after shaving. Try using a face moisturizer that contains SPF as well. This helps with keeping off razor burn.
Some people believe that the more you shave the more likely you will suffer from razor bumps. In truth if you always shave with a razor that is not dull and follow the above steps you will have less bumps.
Try to shave using the steps above each and every time you put a razor to your skin. If you make it a ritual you will see the lasting effects quickly.

September 27, 2008 by Amanda Beaty · Leave a Comment
In this day and time even men should take good care of their skin. Women are not the only ones that should do skin care. Many manufacturers have now realized that men are in the market for products to use on their skin. Men's skin care products such as face wash and body wash are seen in the stores now. We need to examine how men need to care for their skin.
Men's pores are a bit larger in size than women's and their skin usually is a bit oilier too. This helps dirt collect on the skin and clog pores. This means that men need to cleanse their skin with a similar routine as women have used for years. Soap is not the best cleanser for the face because it usually is too rough on the skin and does not completely rinse off. Face washes and body washes are much better designed for this task.
Facial washes deep clean the face and rinse clean leaving no film whatsoever. Getting the pores unclogged and free from dirt allows the skin to look clean and healthy because it is truly clean. Men can also use some of the same products women have been using too along with the men's products. But men usually feel less self-conscious buying and using men's products. You can even now find the organically based cleansers that so many like to use.
Cleansing is not the only thing you need to do to take care of your skin. You need to tone it too. To return the skin to the proper PH you have to use a toner after washing it. There are many different brands of toners in the stores today. You may have try more than one to find the one you like. As with the cleansers you can find one that is naturally based. You will love how your skin feels after giving it a good cleaning and toning.
A good routine to get into is shaving first then cleansing and toning. Then gently rub on some moisturizer that is water based. The water based ones are a less greasy and that is what your skin needs men. The moisturizer should be free of alcohol too because that dries the skin out and counteracts the moisturizing effect.
Skin cells do die when they get to the surface of your skin. You need to most of the time remove these for they do not always fall off by themselves. This process for removing dead skin cells is called ex foliation. You can use special products on the market today for this purpose and should do this at least once a week. You usually do this after cleansing or along with cleansing your face. Some face washes may ex foliate too.
For the body there are many different types of body washes you can wash with. These like the facial wash mixtures cleanse better and rinse away better than soap does. The cosmetic industry is now realizing that men need these products specifically designed for them and is bringing out more products all the time.
Sunscreen needs to be discussed now. UVA and UVB rays from the sun can be very harmful to the skin causing anywhere from sunburns to skin cancer in a men and women both. You men are usually outside in the elements more than women so you need sunscreen even more than they do. A good sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher is recommended if you are going to be outside for any length of time. You will also have to redo the application of it throughout the day. Lip balm with a high SPF is also recommended for your lips.
Exercise and proper diet can help the skin too by stimulating it from the inside to be healthy. Drink the right amount of water too. Smoking and drinking alcohol can do harm to the skin so if you must do these things please do them in moderation. Men if you follow the few tips given here you will soon see a vast improvement in the health of your skin.
