Understanding Treating Acne

If you are one of the millions of people who have a firsthand knowledge of acne, you don’t have to be told of the aggravation that it can cause. This one skin condition can bring people to tears with one outbreak.

Acne Treatments

It does not help to be told that the condition is probably temporary. When somebody has acne popping up all over his or her face, it doesn’t matter if it’s temporary or not. This is a painful ailment and it causes a lot of teenage angst. Acne causes angst for people of all ages around the world. Some adults get it and even some younger children experience outbreaks of acne. And for parents of teens with acne, they are just as upset and hurt by this skin problem as their children are.

Home Acne Treatments

Acne involves the hair follicles of the skin, the tiny pores fill with skin oils and bacteria, and then these become trapped. Voila! You now have the perfect set up for acne to erupt. “Whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, zits; these little critters cause teens to throw fits.” This is a very true statement. Acne has a way of occurring at those all-important times in life. You know the moments…..a date, the prom, graduation, a party…if it is important, acne seems to know it.

Washing your face will not prevent acne. Part of acne can be traced to genetics and the type of skin that you have inherited. You can help alleviate the problems by sticking to a healthy diet and practicing good skin care and hygiene. This alone will not guarantee you an acne free life however. Even the smoothest and most well pampered face can find acne saying “hello” the next morning.

If you do have acne, you can use some simple at home remedies. Many people get some acne relief by washing their face with a cloth they have dipped in warm water with crushed and dissolved aspirin tablets. 3 tablets in 1/3 cup of warm water makes a nice, soothing wash that can be applied up to 4 times a day. The gel from an aloe plant has also been used to soothe the inflammations that erupt. You can use a tea made from lavender and thyme to also soothe many acne problems. Take 1teaspoon of both crushed lavender and crushed thyme and 1 cup of water and bring to a boil. Strain the solution and let it cool. Then use this tea to rinse your face up to 4 times a day for 4 -5 days. Some people have good success when they apply this tea to clean cloths and let this poultice remain on their face for about 20-30 minutes at a time. You can also try this method 3-4 times a day for 4-5 days.

Skin Acne Treatment – Enjoy Healthy, Clear Skin

Is it any wonder that finding an acne skin care treatment is one of the most pressing issues when it comes to skin care? Few things make us less comfortable with our appearance than red, blotchy pimples dotting our faces.

Although there are a few lucky ones, virtually all teenagers have to deal with zits, blackheads and other skin blemishes at some point during their lives. Some have it worse than others. I can remember being a teen and trying a number of acne treatment products to clear up my face. Some of them worked really well and others didn't do a thing. Finally figuring out how to get rid of pimples was incredibly empowering.

It wasn't so easy for some of the other kids, though. A few of them had their parents take them to a doctor for advice and treatment. Sometimes with prescription acne medications they were able to successfully control their acne. Most of the time, however, they still had quite a time of it. Although the prescribed treatments would usually help, they didn't always provide the cure these teens were so desperately hoping for.

While some of these kids grew out of their acne problems, others continued to struggle. And unfortunately, in cases of severe and chronic acne, scars are often left behind long after the zits are cleared up. Acne scarring is often a constant reminder of the skin troubles faced during youth.

One of the best ways to avoid this hurtful scarring is to get a handle on acne as soon as possible. And, as already discussed, it is easier for some than for others. However, some folks have found that conventional treatments aren't always the best way to handle a problem. Learning how to get rid of acne naturally has proven to be highly effective for a growing number of sufferers.

Approaching acne care treatment holistically has proven a smart move for these former sufferers. And it makes sense if you think about it. After all, few can argue with the fact that our outward appearance is merely a reflection of what's going on inside our body. A variation on the old saying 'you are what you eat', anything and everything you put into your body has an effect on the ultimate appearance of your skin.

Now, it's not always fair because there are certain people who can eat any type of food and it never shows up on their skin. It's the same way with weight gain, isn't it? The fact is, some people are more sensitive to some factors than others. But, by treating acne at the root cause in a natural way, more teens and adults can enjoy clear, healthy skin and prevent future scarring at the same time.

Treating Acne With The Goodness Of Aloe Vera

Aloe vera, which is commonly used as a topical application for burns, is very effective in treating severe acne. In fact, aloe vera is generally included in majority of natural severe acne solutions, as it can prevent scarring and also help get rid of blemishes and marks. Most people apply aloe vera on the face to heal acne spots.

The biggest advantage of using aloe vera as a severe acne solution is that it is free of any harmful side effects. Some acne patients prefer to use aloe vera soaps or gel to cure their condition. Aloe vera, if used in the liquid form, can be a great help in removing excess oil from the surface of the skin.
